"Disclaimer"
First, please know that as the
decades sped by and I caught fleeting—and sometimes cleverly camouflaged—glimpses
into the state of our "civilized" world, a lifelong modest degree of
cynicism grew to significantly increased levels of anger, disappointment,
disapproval, frustration and, in a few cases, pure 'ol disgust. I've become a very
opinionated individual. Not to the degree that some might say Rush or any
of a great many other negative and far-too-often rude radio talk show hosts and
at least one equally rude PBS news analysis show have attained, but close.
These are my personal
opinions...which I will share here for the dual purposes of providing a brief
and intentionally incomplete peek into how my mind has been encouraged (you
might even say, forced) to function, and to provide a vent for a few
particularly strong thoughts on the direction our society has chosen for
itself.
It's become a loud, obnoxious, distressingly
rude, vulgar, confused, corrupt, unbelievably violent and dangerous world
we're stuck with. So now it's my turn to speak out, as it were, and see if I
can bring myself to the point of feeling better. Selfish, I know.
I'll begin with the sad,
out-of-control state of modern-day marketing and media/print advertising. Then
I'll progress through the as-yet-incomplete list at the bottom of this page.
It'll take a while...but I promise that now I've started, I'll stay with it.
Also please know that I have no
intention of defaming any single or group of persons. I'll leave any
identifying to your imagination. And I harbor no illusions that any of what I
say in these pages will have any lasting positive effect on the serious
societal flaws which I perceive. Old habits, methods and philosophies, once
deeply entrenched and ingrained, are difficult—if not impossible—to
dislodge or even modify.
Oh...and by the way, I've kept
the language clean. You might be interested to learn that I immediately
delete and never respond to emails containing sewer-level language...so
if you expect your opinion to be read, please...keep it clean.
